MEET the 2017 Camp Pineshore TEAM~

CAMP GURU:

Jenny Carrion serves as a jack of all trades at Camp Pineshore.  Whether it be recruiting and hiring staff, arranging daily schedules, shopping for groceries or jumping in to a competitive game of Nukem if it is Pineshore related you will likely find her involved.  Her love for our Lord can been seen in her dedicated commitment to making this camp program a successful journey of faith for our youth.  Jenny has been a part of Camp Pineshore since she began as a camper at 9 years old and has never left!  Over the past 26 year span she has served as a CIT, Counselor, Lifeguard, Cook and Assistant Director.  When Jenny is not having fun at Pineshore she serves as a lawyer for the United States Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base.  Jenny loves to run and loves to scrapbook.

CAMP COUNSELORS:

Brandon:

Hi, I am 26 years old and live in Boston, MA as an architect. Growing up in Leominster, I have been a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and have been coming to this camp my entire life. My big family has a cabin on the property at the top of the hill that my grandfather built many years ago. I love getting campers excited for team competition and can get pretty competitive myself. I take counselors verse campers very seriously! I’ve been a counselor off and on for 10 years now, after transitioning from being a camper for 10 years. I’ve made many life-long friends at this camp and can’t express enough how great it is to spend a week with other Christ-minded people, away from the real world. I’ve always considered this week-long escape a way to get back on the right path and refresh my spiritual focus. I take the counselor position very seriously and I pride myself on being someone the campers can trust and talk to, but also someone that loves to have fun and make the most of our time together. I look forward to another great year at Pineshore and hope to see you all there!

 Kayla:

Camp Pineshore is one of my favorite places on earth and one of a few that I can call home! I have been attending this great place for 12 years now and each year is just as sweet as the last. I grew up as a camper at Pineshore and now I have the pleasure of being a counselor- and I love it! I love hanging out with the campers and getting to become good friends with them over the years. Some of my favorite activities at camp include swimming in the lake, team competition games (who doesn't love a good game of Nukem), and campfire nights. Some fun facts about me are that I am a student at Liberty University in Virginia studying exercise science on the track to become a physical therapist. I also love anything with chocolate and my favorite sport is volleyball.

Sunday School Week

Pastor David Jacoby: I am 30 years old, and Wisconsin is my place of birth. (So naturally that makes me is a HUGE Green Bay Packer fan!) and in August 2015, I began my ministry in Fitchburg, MA. I am married to Liz. We have a daughter, Erin, who is an active two year old, and a son, Ian, who was born this past fall. I did my graduate studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN and my undergraduate at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, WI. I am a lifelong Lutheran--Missouri Synod with a long family history of family members who are church workers. All along, I have been greatly blessed to have Christian influences my entire life, including parents and teachers growing up. With one year behind me directing the church camp, I am excited for the opportunities to witness about Jesus, helping the youth to grow in faith and in love for one another.

Pastor Rob Morris is the pastor at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown, CT. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Christy, for almost 14 years. They have two sons: Elijah, who is 10, and Isaiah, who is 7. This is his first year serving and Pineshore!  The whole family enjoys camping, hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking - pretty much anything that gets them outdoors. They love music and each can play a few instruments. They love campfires, s'mores, cookouts and games. They love Jesus and thank God that He loves us and forgives them. They love the Bible and learning more about it. They love worshipping together with other believers. And they are all really looking forward to a great week at Pineshore this summer!

Sunday School Director of Christian Education (DCE)-

Melanie Vaughn:

Hello! I am 39 years old, born and raised in Massachusetts within the Lutheran church Missouri Synod. In May 2000, I graduated from Westfield State with my Bachelor's degree. Then in 2004 I felt God calling me into youth ministry and in December 2007 I graduated from Concordia University - Seward, Nebraska with my DCE Certification. I currently work in the Acton-Boxborough school system and volunteer at Connecting Point Church as their DCE in Marlborough, MA. As a former camper I wanted to give back the wonderful experiences I received as a camper to future campers. I am excited for my second year at Sunday School Week!

Sunday School Week Nurse-

Jake Kreyling is a former camper, counselor, cook and medical staff over the years for Camp Pineshore.  Camp Pineshore is close to my heart, as it fostered and built up my faith as a child and was the best part of the summer every year growing up.  Camp Pineshore continues to be the highlight of my family's summer, with three of our six children attending this year.  I'm excited to continue working as camp EMT for my third year, looking forward to seeing past campers and new faces.  I'm a career Firefighter/EMT on the North Shore and will be bringing my wife Lauren and our six children, ages 10, 10, 9, 7, 7, and 1.  We are currently attending a church plant in Bevelry, MA helping serve the North Shore communities of Massachusetts.

Junior High Week

Pastor Peter Gregory transplanted to New England in March 2015 with his wife, Kristen, and their three (now four) children where he serves as pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Westminster, MA. He previously served as associate pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, IN. While studying for the ministry, he spent a year each in California and England and has traveled to 10 European countries and 1 in Africa (Madagascar!). Born in northern Michigan, summers were spent working in his family's cherry and apple orchards with occasional dips in nearby Lake Michigan. For the past two years, however, summers have meant swimming and spending time at Pineshore with his family, and he runs past the entrance on an almost-weekly basis. This will be his first year serving at Camp, and he's looking forward to diving into God's Word with the campers and staff to learn all about Jesus.

Rev. Timothy Sandeno has visited all 50 states and lived in 9 of them at one time or another and counts Camp Pineshore as one of his favorite places. He has been the pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gorham, ME for the past four years and is returning for his third year as Camp Chief. Married to Lisa for nearly 23 years, they have three grown children. Pastor Sandeno enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, and fishing. You can ask him about biking across Germany or his year in east Africa where he swam with whale sharks, but don't forget to ask him about Jesus and about how God loves you. Pastor Sandeno is looking forward to another fun summer at Camp Pineshore with all the unique games and most especially the wonderful campers and counselors.

Senior High Week

Pastor Clow was born and raised in a northwestern suburb of Chicago, Il. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer LCMS in Prospect Heights. His Dad and Mom still attend Our Redeemer. He has an older sister, Karen (married with 4 children) who lives in a nearby suburb. He was married in 1997 to Patty and has 2 children, Ashley and Sydney. After graduating from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1998, he served as associate pastor at Lutheran Church of the Savior in Bedford, MA and has been at Grace Lutheran church from 2001 where he currently still serves. The Clow family loves New England whether hiking, biking, or on the beach by the ocean.

Pastor Manor is new to Camp Pineshore, but has served as the Pastor of the Week for a number of summers at other church camps where he has lived.  He was baptized into the Body of Christ on July 18, 1971 and raised in the LCMS. His B.A. degree and first career was in business. Many people find it interesting that the Manors owned a Dairy Queen franchise prior to entering the seminary. A graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Pastor Manor shepherded churches in Michigan and Illinois prior to his return to St. Paul's, where he served the church family as vicar (intern) 10 years before his pastorate. Married for almost 25 years to his college sweetheart Deaconess Tiffany, they have 4 children. In their free time, the Manors enjoy playing games, camping, spending time near water, and many sports activities. The entire family serves the Body of Christ within their vocations and giftedness

Senior High Nurse- My name is Kathy Cipolla, and I'll be serving as a camp nurse during the senior high week this year.  I've been a nurse and an USAF wife for 20 years.  I'm also have two sons, Matthew (19) and Mark Jr. (17).  I'm so glad that the Lord has given me the opportunity to serve for the first time at Camp Pineshore, thanks to meeting Jenny at Hanscom AFB!   I grew up Lutheran and attended camp myself for several years (Camp Mowana in OH).  Mark Jr. will be joining me and we look forward to having a fantastic and fun time!
